Tucked away in a secluded cul-de-sac, and securely protected by gates and cameras, the six-bedroom, six-bath house is sited on three parcels spanning three-quarters of an acre, all of it dotted with fruit trees and wildflowers. The couple then embarked upon an extensive restoration and modernization of the two-story stucco and terracotta-roof structure in collaboration with Los Angeles design firm Nickey Kehoe.
Originally built way back in the 1930s, and once owned by both Vince Vaughn and Kate Bosworth (at separate times, of course), the previous owners paid $3.9 million for the place in May 2018 as an investment, and subsequently sold to Helberg and his longtime wife Jocelyn Towne a year later for almost $6.9 million. Unsurprisingly, the 41-year-old California native has now decided to offload his other house, a Spanish Colonial-style estate in the prime Los Feliz Oaks enclave, asking a speck under $9.9 million.
Earlier this year, actor Simon Helberg - best known for his role as nerdy engineer/astronaut Howard Wolowitz on long-running sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” - doled out nearly $8.4 million for a historic English Tudor Revival mansion in Pasadena.
